A traditional basket willow used all over the world and the most common willow grown in the UK for basketry. A very fragrant and ornamental willow with attractive new growth which is maroon/black in the Spring changing to olive green/brown as it matures. It is attractive giving good autumn colour. Rods are long (up to 8-9‘ in good conditions), slender and very flexible making it useful for working.

As well as basketry, this variety is also ideal for hedging.
